(“FGG Summit”) organized by the
JYC Girls Impact Foundation (“JYCGIF“) was held on November 4, 2023 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Guest of Honor, Ms. Alice Mak, SBS, JP, Secretary for the Interior and Youth Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), presided over the opening ceremony of the Summit, alongside Ms. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Founder of JYCGIF, and Ms. Diana Cesar, Executive Director and Managing Director of Hang Seng Bank.

This year’s FGG Summit, supported by the HKSAR Youth and Internal Affairs Bureau, Hang Seng Bank and 19 other organizations, dedicated its theme to “Discover Your Purpose, Unleash Your Potential.”
Guest of Honor, Miss Alice Mak, SBS, JP, Secretary of the Interior and Youth Affairs of the HKSAR said: “The Summit is a vision, especially building the skills of our adolescents to meet the future needs of society. I hope the students will take this opportunity to reflect on their position in the future society and I very much look forward to witnessing their transformation into a woman. leader in different fields.
The FGG Summit attracted nearly 300 teenage girls from more than 40 schools. At the Summit, adolescent girls took their first steps toward developing their education and career paths through unique leadership development and STEM learning opportunities, and by networking with their peers.
In his opening speech, Ms. Jennifer Yu Cheng said: “We live in the information age, a time where the world is changing at a rapid pace but new possibilities are also endless. The FGG Summit is just the beginning of the journey for adolescent girls – to empower them to take a leap forward, explore possibilities and unleash their unlimited potential to pursue their own goals. I hope the students will leave the FGG Summit
inspired, adopted and supported enough to fly where their purpose takes them and to continue to make meaningful contributions to the lives of others around them.

The IdeaGO Ideathon: Contributing to society through I&T
The Ideathon 2023 Finale (“Ideathon”), jointly organized by JYCGIF and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), was also held at the Summit this year, with the aim of empowering adolescent girls to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the areas of innovation and technology (I&T).
Over the past few months, Ideathon participants have learned and adopted design thinking and I&T to formulate solutions and models/prototypes to solve problems related to health and well-being, sustainability ( low carbon and green lifestyle) and the challenges faced by women in society. Industry professionals from renowned technology companies provided teams with mentorship and workshops on 3D printing, AI applications and robotics. The participants also visited Science Park and its InnoPark to gain knowledge about the I&T ecosystem and new industrialization.
During the Summit, the Finale presented 12 exceptional projects developed by participating schools and teenage girls.
Champion and team spirit awards – Empower Me (Carmel Pak U Secondary School): a revolutionary AI platform that revolutionizes career development for mothers. By offering AI-generated resumes and skills matching services, Empower Me empowers mothers to maximize their free time and unlock their professional potential.
1st Finalist and Most Popular Award – (True Light Middle School in Hong Kong): An innovative social project making the purchase of menstrual products such as sanitary napkins, disposable panties and black skirts, easy and accessible, with the aim of destigmatizing menstruation and normalizing associated shopping and learning, promoting good health. knowledge and concepts.
2sd Second winner – Your Way Home (Marymount High School): Harnesses the power of 3D printing to create personalized tracking devices for seniors. This device, equipped with AI GPS devices and printed with images of their loved ones (like grandchildren), encourages people with dementia to wear them, thereby protecting their safety.
Dr Sunny Chai, President of HKSTPsaid, “HKSTP is dedicated to nurturing future talents and empowering young people as influential figures in the I&T ecosystem. In this golden age of I&T, young people have endless opportunities to grow and flourish. Through collaboration with JYCGIF, we look forward to enhancing the interest in I&T and entrepreneurship among teenage girls, motivating them to contribute to the development of Hong Kong into an international I&T hub .
As part of the partnership between HKSTP and JYCGIF, a series of activities, including the IdeaGO Ideathon, were organized to enable female secondary school students from local schools to discover real-world opportunities in the I&T sector, thereby attracting more young women to pursue a career in the industry.
