Innovative imaging solution to improve the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and patient care in the region
BOSTON,, March 14, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Life Molecular Imaging (LMI) and St. Teresa’s Hospital are happy to announce that Florbetaben (18F) Injection (Brand Name: Neuraceq®) will be available in Hong Kong from St. Teresa Hospital by March 2025.

Neuraceq® should play an important role in the early and precise diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and bring a greater consciousness of the MA in Hong Kong. This marks an important step in LMI’s mission to extend global access to Neuraceq®Ensure that more patients and health care providers worldwide have the tools necessary for an early and precise diagnosis of the MA.
Neuraceq® is a radioactive diagnostic agent approved by the FDA for the detection of amyloid plates in the brain of adult patients with cognitive disorders that are assessed for MA and other causes of cognitive decline. Neuraceq® is used in clinical routine and is also a powerful diagnostic tool for the appropriate characterization of patients evaluated for eligibility for treatment with newly approved anti-amyloid drugs, or for registration in clinical trials to further support the development of drugs in neurodegenerative diseases.
Neuraceq® Will facilitate the management of patients with MA, including those interested in new treatments for monoclonal antibodies modifying the diseases recently introduced to St. Teresa hospital. With the availability of Neuraceq®St. Teresa Hospital now provides complete care for MA patients, from advanced diagnosis to targeted anti-amyloid treatment.
“LMI remains dedicated to the expansion of world access to Neuraceq®. We are happy to associate with St. Teresa Hospital Hong Kong To improve the diagnosis of patients undergoing an assessment of light cognitive disorders (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease, while guaranteeing the Neuraceq® Remains easily accessible to doctors in the region, “said Ludger Dinkelborg, Ph.D., Managing Director of LMI.
About Neuraceq (Florbetaben 18F) – Insert of the American package
Indication
Neuraceq® is a radioactive diagnostic agent indicated for postron emission tomography (TEP) Brain imaging to estimate the density of β-amyloid neuritic plaque in adult patients with cognitive disorders which are assessed for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other causes of cognitive decline. An analysis of Neuraceq negative indicates a clear clear to any neuritic plate and is incompatible with a neuropathological diagnosis of the MA at the time of image acquisition; A negative scan result reduces the probability that a patient’s cognitive impairment is due to the MA. A positive Neuraceq scan indicates moderate to frequent amyloid neuritic plates; Neuropathological examination has shown that this amount of amyloid neuritic plaque is present in MA patients, but can also be present in patients with other types of neurological conditions as well as elderly people with normal cognition. Neuraceq is a complement to other diagnostic assessments.
Use limitations
- A positive neuraceq® The scan does not establish the diagnosis of MA or any other cognitive disorder.
- Neuraceq’s safety and efficiency have not been established for:
- Predict the development of dementia or other neurological conditions
- Monitoring of responses to therapies.
Important security information
Risk of image interpretation and other errors
Errors can occur in the neuraceq estimation of the Néoritic brain plaque density β-amyloid during the interpretation of the image. The interpretation of the image must be carried out independently of the patient’s clinical information. The use of clinical information in the interpretation of Neuraceq images has not been assessed and can cause errors. Errors can also occur in cases with severe brain atrophy which limits the ability to distinguish gray and white matter from the Neuraceq scan. Errors can also occur due to movement artefacts which cause image distortion. The results of the Neuraceq scanner are indicative of the presence of neuritic cerebral β-amyloid plates only at the time of image acquisition and a negative scan result does not prevent the development of neuritic neuritic β-amyloid plates in the future.
Risking risk
The Neuraceq, similar to other radiopharmaceuticals, contributes to the long -term cumulative cumulative exposure of a long -term patient. Exposure to long -term cumulative radiation is associated with an increased risk of cancer. Ensure safe handling to protect patients and health workers against unintentional exposure to radiation.
Current adverse reactions
Neuraceq’s overall security profile is based on data from 1,090 Neuraceq administrations at 872 subjects. No serious undesirable reaction linked to the administration of Neuraceq has been reported. The most frequently observed adverse reactions in subjects receiving the Neuraceq were reactions from injection sites made up of erythema (1.7%), irritation (1.1%) and pain (3.4%).
