For the 2024 school year, dads (and moms) can easily access and download Back to School with Dad cards from the Back to School with Dad webpage. This accessibility encourages parents to share the card models within their communities. Additionally, we have introduced an Instagram filter to improve the memorability of the back-to-school experience via the following link
allowing parents to share these precious moments on Instagram.
With these downloadable templates, parents have the option to personalize notes of encouragement. These can be printed and stored in lunch boxes or school bags, bringing pleasant surprises to their children during playtime. For older children, parents can also send these personalized notes directly to their cell phone. To further support parents in this initiative, a Back to School with Dad toolkit is provided, offering ideas on how to prepare their children for the upcoming school year.
In the years before COVID-19, only paper Back to School with Dad cards were distributed in schools for fathers to write notes for their children. Due to COVID-19 restrictions affecting card distribution logistics, Back to School with Dad 2022 has gone virtual.
Since 2023, paper Back to School with Dad cards have also been provided to schools upon request. For the 2024 school year, 28 schools requested paper copies of Back to School with Dad cards that were distributed to parents at school events such as Primary 1 orientation. Additionally, 28 schools will also receive back-to-school photo frame boards that will be used to encourage dads to capture memories of this milestone through photos while motivating them to become more involved in their children’s educational journey.
