The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham Vietnam) will host the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2022 at THISO SkyHall in HCMC from November 28 to 30. This event will promote sustainable development cooperation between the EU and Vietnam through extensive dialogue, investment coordination, knowledge sharing and technology transfer.
VIETRADE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EuroCham on October 3 to co-host GEFE 2022
The primary goal of GEFE 2022 is to support Vietnam in meeting its COP26 commitments and achieving the development goals set out in its National Strategy for Green Growth for 2021-2030.
Academics, innovators, students and policy makers from Europe, Vietnam and Southeast Asia will participate in panel discussions, an exhibition and business-to-business and business-to-government discussions during this ambitious three-day event.
The first day of GEFE 2022 will include a plenary conference, where high-level representatives from European and Vietnamese governments and business stakeholders will discuss sustainable development, energy policy and climate risk management.
Representatives from EU Member States, diplomatic and trade promotion officials and international organizations such as the World Bank have been confirmed to be in attendance. EuroCham currently arranges the participation of a European Union Commissioner and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).
Each of the three days of GEFE 2022 will also feature panel discussions on a broad theme, including High-Level Conference Energy Production/Grid Financing green projects Legal restrictions, circular economy Green buildings Sustainable agriculture Water management and digitalisation Student competition Climate Fresk Green Tourism.
The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) – under the Ministry of Industry and Trade – signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EuroCham on October 3 to co-organize GEFE 2022 and strengthen ties between Vietnamese and European business communities.
As part of the agreement with EuroCham, VIETRADE will provide support in recruiting Vietnamese companies and exhibitors for GEFE 2022 and the Vietnam National Pavilion.
In addition to EuroCham and VIETRADE, GEFE 2022 is supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Vietnam, the nine affiliated national European business associations of EuroCham, European embassies and governmental organizations, as well as the Government of Vietnam and its ministries.
EuroCham is also partnering with Schoolab to launch the Sustainable Innovation Lab at GEFE 2022. Students from leading universities in Asia and Europe will join forces with companies to develop solutions to real business, environmental and social problems. Schoolab, academic institutions, experts and business professionals will provide mentoring services.
