After a failed suicide attempt, Drew Robinson of SF Giants has lost his right eye. Still, the player hoped to get back to minor league soon.
After losing his right eye due to a suicide attempt, Drew Robinson of Giants understood the fact that it would be extremely hard to make it back to the major leagues. But at least, he is peaceful with that. He admitted that he was thankful for having a chance to share his thought about his tragedy and suggested people not to repeat such a thing once again. A suicide attempt should have -actually- ended the life of Robinson.
Magically, he survived the thing and still moved on. His doctors could not explain what has happened to the baseball athlete. Robinson somehow overcame the tragic pain roughly 20 hours after it occurred. He lost his right eye, fractured his frontal sinus, and had his cheekbone fixed.
Right now, the player is peaceful with his second life.
He said that probably he still lived for some reasons, and he would be more than happy to help people avoid suicidal thoughts.
Drew Robinson made a suicide attempt on April. 16th, 2020.
Just have this happen and just move on with my life the way I was before? There’s no way. This was a huge sign. A huge, painful sign that I’m supposed to help people get through something that they don’t think is winnable.
Drew Robinson, SF Giants player.
Robinson right now overcame his suicidal thought and made his way back to the highest level of baseball. Recently, he signed with Giants as a free agent. But making his way back to the top level would not be easy. There is only 1 player in the last 150 years of major league history who has ever played with only one eye.
Whammy Douglas of Pirates in the season 1957 was the only exception.
But Robinson’s belief is supported by others. Dr. Shoid Myint who did the operation for Robinson said that hitting prowess of Robinson showed that he could battle with high-speed batting practice pitching.

Above all, president of Giants, Farhan Zaidi, trusted his player absolutely. He kept the contract of Robinson instead of terminating it. Last October, they gave Robinson a chance to train in minor league and work towards his way back to the major league.
Zaidi said that he did not just give chance to Drew. Robinson himself has worked hard and proved that he deserved a second opportunity. On ESPN, Zaidi said.
He earned it. He had a great camp with us last spring, and he’s amazingly managed to look outward and be a big contributor to the organization even as he’s had to work tirelessly to get back on the field. We’re proud he’s a Giant, and we’re excited to see him compete for a job in camp.
Farhan Zaidi, President of SF Giants.

So far, Robinson is still competing for his job. The club also invited him to speak for World Suicide Prevention Day. And he bravely described what he has gone through.
April 16, around 8 p.m., I attempted suicide and shot myself in the head. A day later, April 17, around 4 p.m., I dialed 911 myself in an attempt to have my life saved. Later that night, not only was my life saved, but it was reborn and restarted.

After all, this dude is rebuilding his life after such a tragedy. Everything is still in progress.
