Do Phone Waves and Wi-Fi Waves Really Cause Infertility?

It is impossible to imagine a modern man active in society without mobile devices, computers with Wi-Fi. The effect of cell phone radiation on male fertility has been the subject of recent interest and research.

According to Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Duong, clinical head of the Hong Ngoc IVF center, there is a link between exposure to radiation from mobile phones, the degree of DNA fragmentation and reduced sperm motility.

Studies have shown that the number of advanced motile spermatozoa in the group exposed to electromagnetic radiation is statistically significantly lower than in the group without cell phone effects. The number of locally motile sperm cells was significantly higher in the group affected by cell phone radiation. DNA fragmentation was also significantly higher in this group.

Causes of cell phone waves and Wi-Fi affect sperm quality

    Decreased sperm count and quality

Some studies on the problem of Wi-Fi waves causing infertility show that using phones and regular exposure to Wi-Fi waves can affect the production and timing of sperm production in men. Prolonged exposure to Wi-Fi waves can reduce sperm density by nearly a third, especially for healthy sperm.

This means that sperm motility, number and viability are all significantly affected by years of exposure to cell phones or Wi-Fi waves. A decrease in the number and quality of sperm can inhibit male fertility, reduce the chances of successful conception and lead to infertility.

    Lowering Testosterone Levels

Pham Thi Thuy Duong pointed out that men who regularly use cell phones and are exposed to Wi-Fi waves have lower testosterone levels than others. While testosterone is responsible for regulating a man’s sex drive, response, sexual activity and sperm production.

Therefore, a reduction in testosterone hormone levels in the body can lead to sexual dysfunctions such as erectile dysfunction, inhibiting a man’s ability to perform sexually, as well as decreasing the amount and quality of sperm and increasing the risk of infertility. the number of sperm cells.

    Affects sperm DNA

Mobile phone radiation, WiFi waves are toxic to genes, these radiations can cause (sometimes irreparable) damage to the DNA. When sperm DNA is damaged, the body cannot repair that damage.

Infertility researchers say men who often put their laptop on their lap or keep their cell phone in their pocket (near the genitals) are more likely to experience significant DNA damage.

Safety note when using phone, wifi

According to experts, there are a number of measures that can limit the effects of Wi-Fi radiation on men and improve reproductive health as follows.

Limit exposure: Try to control the time you spend using or near Wi-Fi transmitters to reduce exposure time where possible. For example, do not put your phone in your pocket or use your laptop directly on your lap.

Use products that block electromagnetic radiation: Shields from electromagnetic radiation from telephones and Wi-Fi waves for laptops and telephones can limit the effects of electromagnetic waves during use.

Avoid 5G whenever possible: Because 5G is a new technology, its risks and side effects have not been well studied, so 5G waves can collectively affect reproductive health in many other ways as well.

    Beware of all electromagnetic waves

Not only phone waves or Wi-Fi, all kinds of electromagnetic waves can affect health. Electromagnetic waves include types such as radio waves, infrared, microwaves, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays. Electromagnetic waves are everywhere. Heat from fire, sunlight, energy used in microwave ovens, cell towers, data and signal transmission equipment, etc… are all forms of electromagnetic waves.

They not only affect reproductive health, but can also affect human health in general, such as hormonal changes, nervous tension, insomnia, etc…
