- European logistics gains market share
- Food Logistics continues to develop
- Lower prices impact air and sea freight revenues
- Investments of around 350 million euros planned for 2026
HONG KONG, April 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Logistics provider Dachser increased its turnover to around 8.3 billion euros in the 2025 financial year. This is 3.1 percent more than in the previous year and a new record for the company. The tonnage transported increased to 46.7 million tonnes (+5.8 percent), while the number of shipments increased to 86.2 million (+3.6 percent).
“In 2025, the economic environment in which we had to operate remained difficult. While major European markets stagnated and struggled with high costs and competitive pressure, US tariff policy created additional uncertainty in global trade,” says Burkhard Eling, CEO of Dachser. “The fact that we were able to grow organically under these conditions and even gain market share in land transport proves the strength and resilience of our business model, based on integration, quality and innovation.”
Dachser’s focus was on the rapid integration of its recent acquisitions, notably in Italy (DACHSER & FERCAM Italia), southern Germany and Austria (Brummer) as well as the Nordic countries (Frigoscandia). For the first time in 2025, all three contributed fully to the group’s turnover. Without these acquisitions, Dachser would have only experienced growth of 0.3% compared to the previous year.
Dachser stays the course by investing in the future
Continuing its investment policy of recent years, in 2025 Dachser invested around 325 million euros in the expansion of its network, in its employees, as well as in digitalization and climate action. “We are staying the course by continually investing in our network,” says Eling. “Especially during these challenging times, it is more important than ever to steadfastly maintain our strategic course and continue to pursue our mission to become the world’s most integrated logistics provider. »
For 2026, the company plans to increase its investments to more than 350 million euros with a view to strengthening its long-term competitive position.
Business development in detail
Dachser Road logistics The business sector, which includes the transport and warehousing of industrial and consumer goods (European Logistics) and food (Food Logistics), increased its turnover by around 7 percent last year to 6.9 billion euros. Shipments processed increased 3.7 percent and tonnage increased 6.2 percent.
The income in the European logistics The sector of activity crossed 5 billion euros for the first time to reach 5.1 billion euros. Dachser recorded growth of 5.9 percent here compared to the previous year. The development in the field of food logistics has been particularly positive. Building on its recent acquisitions, Dachser has increased its turnover in the Food logistics sector of activity by 10.1 percent to more than 1.8 billion euros. “Our growth strategy in food logistics is paying off,” says Eling. “By integrating our acquisitions, we have almost doubled our turnover in just five years and reached a new European level.”
In 2025, the determining factor of Air and sea logistics The area of activity has been a sharp decline in ocean freight rates, particularly on the main route from Asia to Europe, as well as a slight decline in air freight rates. After a good start, the market cooled, partly thanks to US tariffs. Revenue fell 12.6% to around 1.4 billion euros, after increasing 22% between 2023 and 2024. “We know this volatility in the air and sea freight market, and we know how to manage it,” says Eling. “We see the growing importance of globally integrated end-to-end services. For our customers, we systematically combine European land transport with air and sea freight to create transparent and resilient supply chains.
In Contract logisticswhich combines transportation, warehousing and customer-specific value-added services, Dachser has experienced strong growth in recent years. In 2025, the logistics provider added space for around 240,000 additional pallets in its 174 warehouses worldwide. This brought the logistics provider’s total storage capacity for industrial products and food products to more than four million pallet spaces for the first time.
Dachser’s overall workforce increased by around 200 people in 2025 to a total of around 37,500 people worldwide.
Dachser expects market conditions to remain complex and volatile in the current year. “Hostilities in the Middle East are reducing air and sea freight capacity, particularly on the Asia-Europe route, while high fuel prices are making transport services even more expensive and putting considerable pressure on the European transport market,” Eling said. “Our operational teams meet these challenges with a high level of professionalism, always with the aim of finding the best solutions for our customers and also to support our transport partners. In accordance with this maxim, we will continue our strategic trajectory in 2026, with reliability and consistency.
