Here’s a major happy celebrity news for 2021 – Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin of the hit Korean series Crash Landing On You have admitted to dating in real life! This is definitely a from-reel-to-real story we’ve all been waiting for.
According to South Korean entertainment news site Soompi, Son Ye-ji (Yoon Se-ri) and Hyun Bin (captain Ri) met through their projects and after the end of their drama, their positive feelings towards each other developed into a romantic relationship.
Soompi, along with other Korean entertainment news outlets, quoted the talent agencies of the celebrity couple—who go by the showbiz moniker “Binjin”—as saying that the pair began dating after the drama series ended in February last year.
Son posted on her Instagram after the news broke. She wrote: “Appearing in front of all of you with news about my personal life instead of work for the first time, I wonder why I feel so embarrassed.”
She added: “I’m thankful to have met a good person and I’ll work hard (on the relationship).”
The A-list couple, who are both 38 years of age, also starred in the film The Negotiation (2018) before they got reunited for last year’s super-trending, ultra-popular series Crash Landing On You. The story centered on a South Korean heiress who falls in love with a North Korean soldier. The series was widely popular beyond South Korea. It was on Netflix number 1 list through its airing and always trended on Twitter, with fans gushing over the chemistry of Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin and how the story opened a whole new dimension of South-North Korean relationship – well, romantically at least.
The news broke after South Korean tabloid Dispatch – known for exposing celebrity relationships on the first day of the new year – published a report with photos of Son getting into Hyun Bin’s car.
They were spotted going to a supermarket in the United States together in early 2019 but their agencies clarified then that they were merely friends and not dating.
Both stars have always kept their private lives away from the public’s gaze. Son’s romantic history is a bit of mystery. Hyun Bin, on the other hand, dated Song Hye-kyo (Descendants Of The Sun, 2016) for two years.
