New data reveal the change of global partnerships, the increase in open access and focuses on the research aligned with the SDGs
LONDON,, July 9, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Clariver PLC (NYSE: CLVT), a world leading supplier of transformative intelligence, has published its annual today G20 research and innovation dashboardDeveloped by expert analysts and scientists from the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI) in Clarivate. This interactive dashboard offers a complete vision and focused on research and innovation capacity data from G20 member countries.

New in 2025, the dashboard incorporates data from the citation of emerging sources (ESCI), an edition of multidisciplinary journals in the world’s most reliable quote index – the collection of science web nuclei. This addition improves the capacity of the dashboard to reflect the full extent of the global research activity.
This year, the ISI refined the dashboard to better highlight collaboration and impact, reflecting the host G20 South Africa Philosophy of Ubuntu of connectivity and collaboration. Thanks to dynamic visualizations, it reveals the research performance of each member alongside the economic context and academic priorities. New features include OECD field level breakdowns, information on free access research and SDGs, and the emphasis on the way G20 nations work together to meet global challenges.
The 2025 dashboard is now available on Clarivate.com and launches before the G20 summit in Johannesburg, South AfricaFrom November 22 to 23.

The main results of the G20 2025 dashboard include:
- European Union: Collaboration with mainland China has more than doubled in the last decade (from 3.0% in 2015 to 6.6% in 2024), while partnerships with the United States (12%) and the United Kingdom (9%) remain stable.
- Continental China: Direct the G20 in research production with nearly 900,000 articles in 2024 – triple its 2015 volume. More than half of these articles involve interior collaboration, reflecting a change to internal partnerships.
- UNITED STATES: International collaboration increased to 43% but remains below that of other advanced economies, probably due to the extent of domestic research. Continental China is the largest international partner in the United States, mainly through bilateral partnerships.
- United Kingdom:: International collaboration increased from 55% in 2015 to 70% in 2024, driven by multi-country partnerships. The United States remains the best partner in the United Kingdom, but collaboration with continental China has also increased significantly (from 5.5% to 14.4%).
- Canada:: Maintains solid links with the United States, with 26.8% of Canadian items in 2024 co-written with American researchers. Almost half of them are in medical and health sciences (47.2%), followed by natural sciences (39.5%).
- Australia:: Continental China has exceeded the United States Australia Postural of research, collaboration from 9.7% in 2015 to 19.5% in 2024. Most of this joint research is in natural sciences (56.3%) and engineering and technology (45.4%).
