Chongqing, China,, July 4, 2025 / Prnewswire / – A report by Ichongqing – The Shanghai 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Film Festival (SCO) opened its doors on Wednesday evening at the Yongchuan Technology Studio, striking China Back as a host after seven years. More than 1,500 delegates and filmmakers from the SCO countries gathered to celebrate the power of cinema to reject cultures and inspire new stories.
Bride cultures and innovation
With the theme “Technology & Film • Charm of the SCO”, this year’s festival highlights cinematographic achievements and technological innovation among the member states of the OCS. As the largest regional organization in the region and the population, the SCO brings together a rich cultural landscape, making the festival a key platform for intercultural dialogue.
Ten eminent Chinese actors – especially Yan I,, Elaine ZhongAnd Victoria Song – served as “Ambassadors of Light and Shadow”, presenting 48 exceptional films of the Nations of the SCOs. During the ceremony, Camellia Flowers, a symbol of Chongqingwere given to visiting filmmakers.
The festival opened its doors with the film “Bazaar Celebration”, which takes place in Kashgar. The director and actor Abdukerim Abliz highlighted the universal themes of love, family and community. With “Endless Journey”, “The celebration of the bazaar” will compete for the Golden Camellia Award of this year, representing Chinese cinema.
Reflections of famous actors
Promotional ambassador Zhang Ziyi watched the filming of “House of Flying Daggers” in Yongchuan, calling for an important step. She praised the growth of Chinese cinema and its opening up to global collaboration.
Karry WangThe Ambassador of the Youth of the SCO Film Festival 2025 and Chongqing Native, expressed his pride in his hometown organizing filmmakers from around the world. Actor Hu jun shared his work experience on the China–Kazakhstan Film “The Composer”, a story of friendship through borders.
The event also honored the 94 -year -old cinema translator Dai Guangxi for his dedication to life to bring SCO films to the Chinese public.
A celebration of art and unity
The opening ceremony presented performances of more than a hundred artists from the OCS countries, including a joint interpretation of the Chinese Kazakh of the “Yellow River” piano concerto. Russian singer Nyusha did it China Beginnings and the main Chinese singers have interpreted themes of beloved films. The evening ended with orchestral and ballet pieces, folk dances and a moving choir of “Auld Lang Syne”, celebrating the unifying power of art.
