Asia-Pacific Branch of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIHAPB) will hold its annual congress on August 31, 2023 during the
3rd International Fair for Property Management and Purchasing. The Expo, which will run from August 30 to September 1, 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, provides an exceptional platform for the latest property management services and products while fostering new business partnerships for professionals in the real estate and industry players in Hong Kong, Mainland China and across Asia.
Mr. Romulus Wong, President of CIHAPB (Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch), and Mr. Edmond Cheung, Vice President of CIHAPB, were invited to participate in a radio interview.

As one of the main Expo supporting organizations, CIHAPB takes the opportunity to bring together its members and guests to share current trends and views in housing and property management, with a focus on particular on well-being and the environment, in order to promote a healthier and livable city for all.
On the occasion of these two milestones in the calendar of the profession, Mr. Romulus Wong, President of the CIHAPB, and Mr. Edmond Cheung, Vice-President of the CIHAPB, intervened on the program “Metro RadioSmart people Smart cityto discuss trends in real estate management and introduce the diverse content of the CIHAPB convention. Underscoring the importance of the Expo, Mr. Wong said, “The International Real Estate Management and Procurement Expo has seen a exponential growth over the years, bringing together a multitude of professionals in the sector. to showcase various technologies, facilities and systems related to property management. It provides an important forum for property management professionals to share knowledge, exchange ideas and improve work efficiency within the sector.
Mr. Cheung discussed the challenges faced by the property management industry in Hong Kong during the Covid-19 pandemic. He explained that while the pandemic has exacerbated labor shortages within the profession, it has also raised public expectations for quality of service, particularly in the areas of
hygiene and epidemic prevention. This has changed the face of property management in Hong Kong, which is now seeing increased use of technologies such as robotics, sensors and contactless equipment to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on human resources.
Mr. Cheung also provided an overview of the annual convention. In line with the industry’s human approach and reflecting its ambition to serve the public and adapt to the times, this year’s theme is “Smart Building: Integrating Technology and ESG for Wellbeing”. The aim is to build understanding within the profession of modern trends in housing design and management that prioritize a healthy environment and meet the daily needs of residents.
