Security camera footage shows suspected shooter Pham Quoc Huy in Vinh Long province, southern Vietnam.
A would-be hitman killed at least one person when he shot dead three members of a family and burned down their home, allegedly over bad debts, in southern Vietnam.
Pham Quoc Huy, 50, allegedly drove a motorcycle from Dong Nai province, neighboring Ho Chi Minh City, to the house of Ho Vu Binh, 60, in Mekong Delta province, Ho Chi Minh City district on Thursday. Mang Thit in Vinh Long, Thursday.
Following an argument with family members, Huy fired a gun at Ho Ngoc Can, 59, Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, 60, and Binh’s son, Ho Binh Dang, 40 years.
Huy then used gasoline to set the house on fire, before fleeing on a motorcycle. The victims were rushed to hospital, but Hue succumbed to her injuries and died.
Police forces in Mang Thit district and Vinh Long province are currently searching for Huy.
An initial investigation revealed that Dang was working in Dong Nai and borrowing money from people that he could not repay. He returned to his hometown and people recently came to his house to demand their money.
