An Asus device with the model designation I005DA and purported to be the ROG Phone 5 was spotted on Geekbench last December with 8GB of RAM. Now its 16GB RAM variant has appeared in the benchmark database, achieving 1131 and 3729 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively, which is higher than what the 8GB RAM model got.

Like the 8GB RAM variant, the 16GB version also runs Android 11 and has a Snapdragon 888 SoC at the helm. Geekbench is not disclosing any other specifications for the ROG Phone 5, but TENAA has revealed that the smartphone will ship a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery, 6.78-inch AMOLED display, and support for 5G networks.

China’s 3C has confirmed that the ROG Phone 5 will support 65W charging, and leaked images and videos have revealed that the smartphone’s rear panel will house a triple camera attached to a secondary display.
We still don’t have the official launch date for the ROG Phone 5, but a teaser poster last month suggested the reveal would take place between late March and mid-April of this year.
