HOUSTON, December 18, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Ascend Performance Materials today announced the successful production of acrylonitrile, hexamethylene diamine, adipic acid and nylon 6,6 from raw materials derived from used cooking oils, expanding its Bioserve wallet. The resulting nylon 6.6 has a 25% lower carbon footprint than nylon 6.6 made from raw materials derived from fossil fuels.

Using an ISCC Plus certified mass balance approach enables industrial-scale production of sustainable materials without sacrificing performance. Ascend’s production facilities at the United States are all ISCC Plus certified to handle bio-sourced, circular and bio-circular materials.
