RIKEN has designed, prepared and delivered a world class installation for the quantum-trapped-ion computer, which will allow generations of high performance quantum systems.
This advanced machine is now fully operational, inaugurating a new era of discovery and innovation. With its installation in Riken’s world class installations, Japanese researchers now have direct access on site to quantum cutting -edge calculation technology, known to be the most efficient systems in the world. Quantum equipment is distinguished as the only available system using a single architecture that physically moves qubits, unlocking new tools and unavailable possibilities on other platforms. The exceptional performance and consistency of the system is supported by the stability of the world’s classroom class environment, which is designed, built and maintained to maximize the capacities of quantum quantum computers.
Named “Reimei”, which results in “dawn” in Japanese, this powerful quantum computer symbolizes the incredible potential of quantum technology and integrated hybrid calculation platforms. The quantum-trapped quantum computer will work in harmony with the famous Japanese flagship supercomputer from Riken, Fugaku, creating a quantum hybrid platform of Pointe-HPC designed to fight against the calculations which exceed the capacities of traditional supercomputers-an exciting leap for Scientific research.
This revolutionary installation is part of an ambitious project commissioned by the new organization of energy development and industrial technologies (NEDO), a national research and development entity Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
