Global Society of Oncology calls for abstract submissions for research that shapes the future of cancer care ahead of Asia Pacific Annual Meeting in Singapore
SINGAPORE, December 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) today launched its call for abstracts for its Breakthrough 2026 meeting, providing researchers from around the world the opportunity to present and discuss their findings with an influential international audience of cancer care professionals in the heart of Asia.
Ahead of the annual conference, held for the first time in Singapore, oncology professionals can submit abstracts to ASCO Breakthrough from today until February 24, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (12:59 p.m. Singapore Standard Time, February 25, 2026). ASCO Breakthrough will take place June 25-27, 2026, co-hosted by ASCO and the Singapore Society of Oncology, along with other collaborating societies in the Asia-Pacific region.
The meeting provides cancer care professionals with the opportunity to present their research as the global oncology community comes together to explore the latest advances and accelerate progress toward conquering cancer worldwide. Alongside critical dialogues, cancer care professionals will also be able to view their work through the lens of different health systems and patient populations, connecting global science and regional expertise.
Leadership of the ASCO Breakthrough program includes esteemed cancer care professionals from the region, chaired by Dr. Yun Yen, Taipei Medical University, alongside Past President Dr. Melvin Chua, National Cancer Center, Singapore; President-elect, Dr. Roselle De Guzman, Central Manila University; Dr. Eileen Poon, National Cancer Center Singapore and Singapore Society of Oncology, as well as Dr. Jun Ma, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and ASCO Asia-Pacific Regional Council representative.

ASCO accepts abstracts in areas ranging from artificial intelligence and digital technology to breast cancer, central nervous system tumors, developmental therapies and more. Additional subcategories include advanced diseases, antibody-drug conjugates and devices, and inventions.
All accepted abstracts will be published online as part of the Journal of Clinical Oncology supplement. Abstracts of Trials in Progress (TPS) will also be accepted. Professionals from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) may request a fee waiver at the time of submission.
In 2024, the Breakthrough Congress welcomed 790 experts from more than 35 countries in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world to Yokohama. Registration for ASCO Breakthrough 2026 will open in December 2025.
