Despite a series of canceled games, Amazon will not close its games studio. Bloomberg reports that Andy Jassy, who is set to take over as CEO from Jeff Bezos, has pledged to support Amazon Game Studios.
This comes after a detailed report of Bloomberg on the issues facing the studio. Mike Frazzini, the head of AGS, has denied this information and now has the support of the new CEO.
In June of last year, AGS canceled Crucible, one year earlier Intensity was deleted and the previous year Break away went on the chopping block. New world has been delayed from a launch in mid-2020 to a certain time this year.

Amazon Lumberyard, a game engine from the CryTek engine, has been blamed for some of the development issues – Break away, Crucible and New world were / are based on Lumberyard. There has been no official comment on the future of the internal game engine.
Christoph Hartmann, who was named AGS vice president in 2018, relaxed the restriction on Lumberyard use and some teams at the studio have reportedly experimented with the Unreal Engine, so Lumberyard isn’t necessarily sure.
For now, Amazon Game Studios will try to overcome the difficulties. “Getting it right right away is obviously less stressful, but when it takes longer it’s often more enjoyable,” Jassy wrote in the email that was sent to employees on Monday.
This is in stark contrast to Google, which shut down the Stadia game studio, which was established just two years ago (AGS was founded in 2012).
