According to the Ministry of Education and Training, only 9 of the country’s 63 provinces and cities have not enacted plans to send preschoolers to school on Tuesday due to COVID-19. They are Hậu Giang, Trà Vinh, Hưng Yên, Vĩnh Long, Hà Nội, Phú Yên, Đà Nẵng, An Giang and Tiến Giang.

Children in the remaining provinces and cities went back to school this month, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

At the primary level, 59 out of 63 provinces and cities allowed students to return.

The northern province of Hưng Yên only allows students from grade 1 to return to school, while the southern province of Vĩnh Long allows only fifth grade students and Hà Nội only allows students in 18 suburban districts to return for personal learning.

Primary school students are not allowed to go back to school in four provinces and cities: Hậu Giang, An Giang, Đà Nẵng and Tiền Giang.

In lower secondary, all provinces and cities across the country have returned students to school, except in Vĩnh Long province, where only sixth and ninth graders return.

At the secondary school level, all provinces and cities have returned pupils.

All universities have plans for personal learning.

The number of students who learn personally is 93.7 percent, for preschoolers it is 86.7 percent, for primary students 93.6% and for students in secondary and secondary education 94.4 and 99 percent respectively.

The intention is that 60 provinces and cities will allow preschoolers to go back to school from February 21.

The three remaining provinces and cities Đà Nẵng, An Giang and Tiền Giang also plan to return students to school this month, but have not set an exact date.

All provincial and municipal departments of education and training have developed and implemented safety criteria for students attending school. They have created flexible and safe lesson plans for students depending on the pandemic situation.

Schools must prepare, clean and disinfect facilities to be ready to welcome students to school, according to Vietnam News Agency.
