According to data from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, the number of passengers and cargo volume increased sharply in the first six months of the year compared to the same period last year.
The number of passengers via airports reached 40.7 million, an increase of 56.8%. Notably, the number of international visitors reached 1.8 million arrivals, an increase of 904.6 percent, while domestic arrivals reached 38.9 million arrivals, an increase of 52.6%.

Domestic airlines carried a total of 20.1 million passengers, an increase of 56.1%. With the number of international visitors reaching 667,000 arrivals, an increase of 1,033%, domestic visitors 19.5 million arrivals, an increase of 51.8%.
In addition, the cargo volume via airports in the first 6 months is estimated at 765,000 tons, an increase of 30.6%.
Previously, data from the General Bureau of Statistics showed that the number of international visitors to Vietnam by air reached 320,711 arrivals in the first five months of the year, accounting for 87.8% of the total number of international arrivals and 6.3 times higher. than that of the same period last year.
Airports across the country are expected to receive approximately 87.8 million arrivals by 2022, a 190% increase from the same period last year. In particular, the number of international visitors is estimated at 5 million arrivals, an increase of 844%, while domestic visitors reach 82.8 million arrivals, an increase of 178.4%. Freight output reached 1.5 million tons, an increase of 5%.
