    • Workers see the increase in wages: workers qualified by AI see an average wage bonus of 56% in 2024, double the 25% the previous year
    • Confounding expectations, the data show that the availability of jobs has increased by 38% in the roles more exposed to AI, but below the growth rate in the less exposed professions
    • The industries most exposed to AI have experienced higher growth in employees (27%) compared to the least exposed (9%)
    • The skills sought by employers modify 66% more quickly in the jobs most exposed to AI

LONDON,, June 3, 2025 / Prnewswire / – The AI makes workers more precious, productive and capable of ordering higher wage bonuses, the work numbers increased even in the roles considered to be the most automatable, according to the global barometer IA Jobs 2025 of PWC, published today. The report is based on the analysis of nearly a billion job announcements of six continents.

The report reveals that since the proliferation of Genai in 2022, productivity growth has almost quadrupled in the industries most exposed to AI (for example, financial services, software edition), from 7% from 2018-2022 to 27% from 2018 to 2024. On the other hand, the rate of productivity growth in industries less exposed to AI (for example, mining, hospitality) went from 10% to 9% over the same period.

2024 The data show that the industries most exposed to AI now see 3x greater growth in employees than the least exposed.

Carol StubbingsWorld Commercial Director, PwC, said:

“This research shows that the power of the AI to deliver for companies is already in progress. And we are only at the start of the transition. While we deploy agenic AI on the scale of the company, we note that the good combination of technology and culture can create new spectacular opportunities to reinvent the functioning of organizations and create value.”

The work numbers are increasing in almost all types of occupation exposed to AI, even highly automatable people

Unlike certain expectations, the report data do not show the destruction of EA employment or wages.

While professions with lower exposure to AI have experienced strong employment growth (65%) in recent years (2019-2024), growth has remained robust even in more exposed professions (38%). Within the more exposed professions, jobs can be divided into “automated” (i.e. work contains certain tasks that AI can do) and “increased” (that is, where AI helps a human to do its work better). In the two classifications between 2019-24, employment numbers increase in each analyzed industry, although increased jobs generally increase more quickly.

Wages increase twice as quickly in the industries exposed to AI

Salaries increase twice as quickly in industries more exposed to AI compared to the least exposed, with wages increasing in automatic and increaseable jobs.

Jobs that require AI skills also offer a salary premium (on similar roles that do not require IA skills) in each analyzed industry, the average premium reaching 56%, compared to 25% last year. Jobs that require such AI skills also continue to grow faster than all jobs – an increase of 7.5% compared to last year, even if total job assignments dropped by 11.3%.

Joe AtkinsonThe head of the world AI, PwC, said:

“Contrary to the concerns that AI could cause strong reductions in the number of available jobs – This year’s results show that jobs are developing in almost all types of occupation exposed to AI, including highly automatic employees. AI amplifies and democratizes expertise, allowing employees to multiply their impact and focus on higher level responsibilities. With the right foundations, companies and workers can redefine their roles and industries and emerge in their field, especially since the complete gambit of applications becomes clearer. “”

The earthquake of skills accelerates – AI creates a profound change in the skills that workers need to succeed

Although the image on productivity, wages and jobs is largely positive, research highlights the need for workers and companies to adapt to a much faster rate of change. The skills sought by employers modify 66% faster in the professions most exposed to AI, compared to 25% last year.

What is needed to succeed in jobs exposed to AI is changing other ways. The demand for employers for formal diplomas is decreasing for all jobs, but especially quickly for jobs exposed to AI. The percentage of jobs increases in AI which requires a diploma of 7 percentage points between 2019 and 2024, going from 66% to 59%, and 9 percentage points (53% to 44%) for AI automated employment.

The results show that the impact of AI on women and men can be unequal – in each country analyzed, more women than men are in roles exposed to AI, which suggests that the pressure of skills confronted with women will be higher.

Pete BrownGlobal WorkForce Leader, PwC, said:

“The rapid advance of the AI is not only the re-riding of the industries, but the fundamental modification of the workforce and the skills required. This is not a situation that employers can easily buy their path.

    The IA commercial imperative

If companies have to kill their growth and take advantage of the opportunity offered by AI, they must now put the AI Avant-Pern. The report recommends five key actions for companies:

    1. Use AI for business -scale transformation.
    2. Treat AI as a growth strategy, not just an efficiency strategy.
    3. Prioritize the AI agentics.
    4. Allow your workforce to have the skills necessary to make the most of the power of the AI.
    5. Unlock the AI transformer potential by strengthening confidence.

About the PWC 2025 Global AI Jobs barometer

The AI job barometer has analyzed nearly a billion job announcements and thousands of company financial reports on six continents to reveal the impact of AI on jobs, wages, skills and productivity. The barometer includes some of the most recent data available on the impact of the AI, including the latest employment advertisements and the business reports available until the end of 2024. We define a job as “ exposed to AI ” if it contains many tasks in which AI can be used according to the well -established professional exposure index. Definitions: The “more exposed” jobs are 50% of jobs with greater exposure to AI; “Less exposed” jobs represent 50% of jobs with lower exposure to AI; The “most exposed” jobs are 25% of jobs with the largest exposure of the AI. We use the IMF methodology to analyze the work exposed to AI separately which is highly automatable (which means that work contains many tasks that AI can do) in relation to highly increased work (which means that work contains many tasks in which AI supports human expertise and judgment).
