Abu DhabiThe water,, April 24, 2025 / Prnewswire / – The Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), the regulator of the Emirate Health Sector, has summoned senior officials of the international government of the round table of health heads to shape a declaration on the principles of governance of AI for health care. Keeping on the sidelines of World Health Week Abu Dhabi (ADGHW), it has taken into account the challenges and opportunities for the development of the potential of artificial intelligence (IA), and explored the key principles of AI governance in health care.

Hosted with Middle East PWC, the results of the round table will inform the development of a collaborative approach which will serve as a reference to governments, health systems and innovators to ensure that the integration of AI into health systems is transparent, responsible and inclusive.

During the round table, participants highlighted the need for agile legal and regulatory frameworks to allow the safe and ethical application of AI in health care, while allowing innovation. By focusing on the need for a man -centered approach, discussions have explored key themes, including data normalization, data confidentiality and confidence, skills development and community engagement.
Key information in the round table highlights the need for:
- Transparent test frameworks to ensure that AI tools meet clinical standards of the real world;
- Collaborative ecosystems that unite regulators, industry, university world and civil society through geographies;
- Access to responsible data that protects confidentiality, ensures security and clarifying property;
- Facing the gap of AI skills by expanding education and awareness through health systems and prepare the workforce of health care in a new era.

The Round Table of Health Managers brought together a distinguished group of local and international voices, including government officials, IA experts, health executives and multilateral organizations, in order to explore the shared principles and practices necessary to deploy AI in a responsible, efficient and fairly.
