After the success of season 1, viewers were not really interested in the second season of the Stranger Things though they expand the storyline and the amount of characters.
The third season of the series “Stranger Things” is described as a combination of terrifying, horrible, powerful body parts created from the melting substance of other creatures. Comparing to the T-1000 in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, the way the creature of this season being built by a connecting a variety of the spattered remains of its victims is considered as a homage. Stranger Things Season 3 offers the continuation of success of its predecessor: Stranger Things Season 1.
The Mind Flayer, Demogorgon, or Thrall are no longer strange creatures to children or viewers’ series. They never stop threatening the Hawkins town during seasons. The third season comes back successfully with not only the scenes of breathtaking space but also the way characters being invested in emotional aspects. The intensity of feelings maximizes due to the addition of the maturity factor.
The girl owning the superpower continued to be the spirit of “Stranger Thing”. In this season, Eleven became more “humanity” without isolation or suspicion. Different from other girls of the same age as her, Eleven has to deal with her foster-father named Hooper. Besides, the relationship with Mike (Finn Wolfhard) turned more serious. Though Eleven seemed to be losing her supernatural power, she received a lot of lessons in her life from what was happening to her.
The dramatic and complicating action scenes are also increased, such as the battle at the Starcourt Mall in the last episode, which was the combat between the policemen named Hopper (David Harbour) and the evil Russian Grigori (Andrey Ivchenko), the battle between Eleven and Billy (Dacre Montgomery) after being possessed by the demon,…
Another advantage of this season is the division of groups of actors. Eleven and Max (Sadie Sink) was on the wayfinding the missing girl; Steve (Joe Keery), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Robin (Maya Hawke) decrypted the Russian code; Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) investigated the unknown rats in the town; Hooper and Joyce (Winona Ryder) explored the irregularity of magnetism.
The important thing is that every character had their own missions leading to their maturity. As a result, the reunion of all characters in the final episode became so emotional and excited.
The factor that made season 2 lose its interest is the addition of Billy and Max brothers onto to film without allocating them the specific roles. By contrast, they could not uplift the viewers’ sympathy. In the most recent season, the movie also add Robin to the cast who was the valuable addition of the entire series.
The homosexual factor became a new surprise. Robin admitted that she was lesbian after she confessed to Steve unsuccessfully. In addition, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) also told his friend that he did not like girls. The “Missing boy” was also described as gay in the original script of “Stranger Things”.
The views would become regret as well as excited due to the open ending when wondering whether Eleven regains her superpower? Where will she and the Byers go after leaving the Hawkins town? Are the policemen Hooper really dead or imprisoned in Russia? What would the Russian do after capturing the Demogorgon? It takes time until viewers could know the answer.
