Milan,, September 27, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Mayor (Milan: Mayor) Announcement that Changing room and Siemens Energy signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the development and marketing of a breakthrough Methanol high temperature fuel cellbased on a newly designed modularized solution.

With a first emphasis on the high -end yachting segment, the target cooperation market is the maritime industry and beyond.
Nextchem will focus on the design and supply of the innovative and very effective methanol fuel cell module, while Siemens Energy will take advantage of its expertise in integration of the integrated system, complete electrification and energy management in order to provide a complete solution to shipyards and owners.
The fuel cell will reform methanol with low carbon content in hydrogen for energy production on board, allowing the ship’s net operations of the ship to anchor and during propulsion. This solution will make it possible to move large quantities of fossil marine diesel fuel and to avoid emissions of nitrous oxides and highly regulated sulfur.
The first “industrial scale” installation of this innovative system is already being definition and will be installed on a yacht of zero flagship product currently under construction.
Although the yachting segment is considered an early adopting market, this new highly effective methanol fuel cell module designed and provided by NextChem will be able to serve many other applications and markets, such as the production of stationary net-zero electricity, including the installation of backup and basis of data centers and industrial processes, as well as a distance installation.
