KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, October 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) concluded a four-day familiarization visit by senior officials of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) from October 21 to 24, 2025. The delegation, led by Brigadier General Dr. Naseer Al-Manthery, Director General of Medical Services of the Security Services, visited major hospitals and healthcare centers facilitation of Malaysian patients to assess clinical capabilities and care coordination systems.
The visit builds on the government-to-government engagement between MHTC and ROP that began in January 2025, when the two organizations first discussed a structured healthcare collaboration to address the medical needs of Omani security personnel and their families. This familiarization program represents the next phase of this partnership, providing ROP leaders with a first-hand assessment of Malaysia’s healthcare infrastructure and international patient services.
The program included familiarization visits to 2 KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital, Prince Court Medical Centre, PERKESO Tun Abdul Razak Rehabilitation Center (Melaka) and Sunway Medical Centre. During these visits, ROP officers met with hospital leadership to discuss referral pathways, international patient services, and areas of collaboration in clinical training, fellowship opportunities, and physician exchange programs. These initiatives aim to strengthen professional development and medical expertise between Malaysia and Oman, fostering long-term partnerships in healthcare excellence. The visit concluded with a networking dinner hosted by His Excellency Sheikh Albabbas Bin Ibrahim Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia.

The visit comes ahead of the Malaysian Health Week in Oman, scheduled from October 29 to November 5, 2025, during which the MHTC will promote Malaysian health services to Omani patients and stakeholders. The MHTC remains committed to serving as a comprehensive one-stop center for international patient referrals, coordinating seamless access to the Malaysian network of MHTC member hospitals and specialist medical services. This commitment forms a central pillar of the Malaysian Year of Medical Tourism (MYMT) 2026 campaign, which will showcase Malaysia’s integrated approach to international patient care and strengthen the country’s position as a leading global healthcare destination.
