OnePlus launched the Nord sub-brand last year, but has yet to decide on a naming system – leaky Max J. reports that the direct successor to the Nord N10 will be called the “Nord N1”. This is similar to Sony’s naming scheme for its phones and especially cameras, eg the full frame RX1 camera, the RX10 1 ”type mirrorless camera and the point-and-shoot RX100. However, it is not clear whether there will be a Nord N10 this year or an N100. And if there is an N10 mid-ranger, will the N1 go upmarket? This is often the case with mid-range…

Oppo announced its Reno5 series in December in China, but it has yet to formalize the Reno5 Pro + in other markets. Fortunately, the global certification forums have published documents suggesting that the global launch is imminent. The document only confirms the model number CPH2207, which helps us tie this to the Reno5 Pro +. Previous certification documents, however, suggest that the specifications remain unchanged from the Chinese version, which we are already familiar with. What remains to be seen is when and for how much the Reno5 Pro and Pro + will launch outside of China, but hopefully there…
Drop tests are the kind of videos that give little to no practical information and are a squeaky watch for most people. But they can be fun for those with the right mindset. Guys at AllApplePro pitted the Galaxy S21 Ultra against the iPhone 12 Pro Max in a drop test that starts at waist level and ends at ceiling height. The Galaxy S21 Ultra lost a lens cover and cracked its screen, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max smashed its back panel. Here is the full video. These types of tests are far from scientific, don’t read much in…
Royole is technically the first company to launch a foldable phone and have launched more products in the past two years. Now is the time for the third iteration of the Royole Flexpai series, and the phone has appeared on TENAA with specs and pictures. Previously, the Flexpai had a vertical camera setup in one end, but now the images reveal a square camera with two shooters. On top of that, there’s a similarly shaped cutout in the opposite corner, allowing the camera bump to land and the phone’s back panels to fully close. Royole Flexpai on TENAA Looking more…

A long-standing issue for users using Chrome instead of Safari while still being invested in the Apple ecosystem has just been resolved. According to people familiar with the matter, MediaTek has entered Apple’s supply chain for headphones. Since Apple owns Beats and its headphone factories, the company has chosen MediaTek to manufacture some of the earphone components. This is the first time that MediaTek has entered Apple’s supply chain, but it is unclear what components the Taiwanese manufacturer provides. Industry watchers estimate that the first order will ship between February and March of this year. Even since Apple stopped including headphones in the iPhone’s retail box, the company has expanded its line of own-branded headphones and Beats. Apple is estimated to ship…
Week four saw the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra at the top of our trend chart, but we have a somewhat surprising silver medalist. The Sony Xperia Pro is more of a professional tool than a phone, but its market launch has always been talked about. The Xiaomi Mi 11 retains its third place, while the Poco M3 actually gained one position and captured fourth. That leaves the Galaxy S21 as the big loser in this week’s shuffle, dropping three spots and sitting up to fifth. Behind it is its humble stable companion, the Galaxy A12, while the iPhone 12 Pro…
