HCM City plans to extend its current social distancing period until further notice as part of its effort to curb the highly contagious Delta variant and the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has approved Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. This is the fifth COVID-19 vaccine to be greenlighted by the Southeast Asian country, aside from the AstraZeneca vaccine, Russia’s Sputnik V, China’s Sinopharm vaccine, and the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
