Chengdu, China,, October 3, 2025 / PRNEWSWIRE / – The Rowing Regatta of Chengdu 2025 took place from October 1 to the Xinjin district in Chengdu, Sichuan province, attracting 20 rowing teams from national and foreign universities, as well as seven rowing teams in the cities of the Chengdu -Med region.
The event, staged in the Xinjin section of the Nanhe River, consisted of three races: the eight men with an 800 -meter straight race, the 800 -meter 800 meter race of the stroke in a quadruple sculls of 800 meters.
The eight male with Racewain Race attracted 14 rowing teams of international universities, including the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, the Brown University in the United States, the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne in Australia and national universities, including the University of Beijing and the Tsinghua University.
Overseas teams from the University of Harvard and the University of Princeton in the United States, as well as six teams from national universities, including Xi’an Jiaotong University and the CHENGDU Sport University, participated in the Quadruple Sculls Race.
Seven rowing teams in the cities of the Chengdu-Med region, including Chengdu, Chongqing, Suining and Meishan, participated in the quadruple sculls race.
The Brown University Aviron team obtained the championship in the eight men with Coxswain Race, while the University of Sydney and the University of Otago in New Zealand won the second and third place respectively.
Henry Hollingsworth, a member of the BROWN University Aviron team, said he was delighted that his team won first place in a high-level international event, noting that the Nanhe river was incredibly beautiful and in competition there.
He added that the spectators on the banks were extremely passionate and that their cheers had given his team an additional motivation.
The Princeton University won first place in the Quadruple Sculls women’s race, followed by Harvard University and the Chengdu Sport University.
DEYANG’s Aviron team Sichuan won the Quadruple Sculls Race Men’s Quadruple, while Jianyang and Meishan teams in Sichuan finished second and third, respectively.
The organizers said they would continue to upgrade the event and invite more high -level teams from China and abroad. Meanwhile, they will take advantage of the event to promote in -depth integration of sports, culture and tourism, transforming Xinjin into a dynamic “city of rowing”.
