It is no longer just a rumor, Frank Lampard left Chelsea after a bad streak of no wins.
Frank Lampard officially was sacked by Chelsea earlier today. The main site of The Blues confirmed the departure of the English coach and wished him good things in future. Previously, Lampard was rumored that he could be sacked by Chelsea if the club continued not to win a match. And after the victory over Luton Town in the FA Cup last night, he was fired by Roman Abramovich. The Russian owner of Chelsea is out of patience for the Englishman and wants to replace him by a more experienced coach.
Former PSG’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, is set as the potential candidate for the vacant coaching position at Chelsea right now.

Lampard has only been on charge of Chelsea for about 18 months, managed the team to qualify for the UEFA Champions League 2020/2021 and FA Cup Final of the season 2019/2020. Though Lampard enjoyed his first season at Chelsea, he and his expensive squad struggled badly this season. Lampard was allowed to exceed the 200 million Euros budget for transferring this season.
Despite spending big money in summer for Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, Lampard was unable to unlock talent of these players and fit them to the general tactical system of Chelsea.
In a statement, Roman Abramovich said that sacking Lampard was a difficult decision.
This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him. He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers.
Abramovich said.
In the end, it might be the best for Chelsea, changing a new coach and moving forward with him. At least, Lampard had a wonderful 18 months with his beloved club, rebuilt them from the yard of old men to the club of rising stars and fresh young talents.
Goodbye Frankie!
