Vietnam versus Malaysia match at World Cup 2022 qualification, Group G, can happen in UAE as Malaysia could not proceed this match in their home stadium. Malaysia Football Association (FAM) suggested to Asian Football Confederation (AFC) that the rest of matches of Group G should be finished in stadiums of UAE and the recent schedule of competition should be rescheduled to June. Vice President of FAM, Mohd Yusoff Mahadi said that Thailand and Indonesia have agreed on the postpone and confirmed that they would be glad to play the rest of matches of Group G in stadiums of UAE.
However, he announced that Vietnam was the only nation that has not agreed on this plan yet. Mr. Mahadi believed that with their privilege, AFC can decide whether should Group G’s matches be competed in UAE. He explained that most teams of Group G agreed, and AFC could finalize their decision based on this factor.

According to the original plan, Malaysia will face UAE in Dubai in March. 25th before facing Vietnam in home ground in March. 30th. But the recent explosion of another COVID-19 wave made this plan collapse. Most teams of Group G nodded heads to postpone matches and move all the competition to June.
Malaysia also recommended this plan as the nation now suffered badly from COVID-19 and could not summon any national camp for their players.
If this plan becomes real, we will have chance to see Vietnam versus Malaysia in the stadium of UAE. But so far, nothing is confirmed yet. Vietnam has not responded if they would want to play World Cup 2022 qualification in June or not. Vietnam national team has so many plans for this year, and one of it is AFF Cup 2021 which they are the current reigning champion.
