Nita, 61, completed her commerce degree from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics in Mumbai. She is also trained in Bharatnatyam dance.
After working as a teacher, she now plays a pivotal role as founder and president of the Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries, a conglomerate owned and run by her spouse. She also recently assumed the role of chairwoman of a newly formed media conglomerate, formed from the merger of Disney and Reliance Industries.
Nita married Mukesh Ambani, 67, in 1985, and together they have three children: daughter Isha and two sons Anant and Akash.
As of March 12, Forbes ranks Mukesh Ambani’s net worth at US$117.7 billion, positioning him as the richest individual in Asia and the ninth richest in the world.
