The Ho Chi Minh City Ministry of Tourism and the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association inaugurated the Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) festival at Le Van Tam Park in District 1 on Thursday.
The four-day event features a range of activities honoring Vietnamese culture and cuisine, and Tet rituals that should help festival-goers discover the traditional cultural values of Tet.
In addition to traditional and contemporary art programs, the festival will include numerous Tet rituals. It also includes more than 150 stalls presenting various Vietnamese products and specialties from localities in Vietnam.
VCCA Chairman Nguyen Quoc Ky said the festival, which is held annually in Ho Chi Minh City, Tet for years, has become one of the events that the city’s tourism industry can take advantage of to promote traditions Tet cultural elements and help businesses present products and services.
It also helps the city promote the uniqueness and diversity of culinary culture to international friends, thereby introducing Vietnamese cuisine to the world.
