El Mundo has recently revealed the fact that Messi has signed a 4-year-long contract that worth 675 millions Euro in 2017 with Barcelona. That bargain made Messi become the most valuable soccer player in the world and also the highest value athlete in the top 10 most valuable athletes in the world. His contract with Barca will expire this summer, and the Argentine striker has not extended his service with El Blaugrana yet.
So far, Messi has received 92% the value of his contract with Barca. He will receive another amount of 48 millions Euro for his loyalty.
Messi surpassed the former contract of Patrick Mahomes – American football star, which worth $549 millions in 10 years between him and Kansas City Chiefs. Annually, the 25-year-old quarterback receives $54,9 million since he extends his contract in 2020. Mahomes used to be the MVP of NFL in 2018, and he accomplished Super Bowl in 2019.
