Three months after being arrested for posting videos of herself performing motorcycle stunts on social media, model Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh appeared in a HCMC court on Friday.
The HCMC People’s Court will try the 35-year-old man for the offense of “disturbing public order”, punishable by two to seven years in prison.
Tran Xuan Dong, 36, his motorcycle instructor, was also charged with disturbing public order and forging seals and documents.
According to the indictment, Trinh and Dong performed stunts on large-displacement motorcycles without proper permits in public in Thu Duc town on October 6 last year.
Trinh performed the stunts without protective gear and drove the vehicle in “inappropriate” positions.
Earlier, in September, Trinh and Dong performed stunts on a Kawasaki Ninja in the Thu Thiem urban area of Thu Duc, including standing on one side of the vehicle and driving hands-free.
They recorded the stunts and posted five videos on several social media platforms, including TikTok and Facebook.
They received over 163 million likes and comments.

Prosecutors said the videos harmed public safety, order and social security, and had a bad influence on young people.
The two accused were arrested on October 19 last year.
During the investigation, Dong said he knew the vehicle registrations were fake, but bought them because they were cheap.
Born in Tra Vinh province in the Mekong Delta, Trinh started her career in 2005 and gained attention with her lingerie and swimsuit photoshoots.
