Lionel Messi once again supported Barca in the match against Levante in the most recent fixture of La Liga. The Argentine striker scored the only goal of the match and helped them grab 3 points from Levante.
FC Barcelona recently suffered from a defeat streak when they lost in the match against Cadiz in a La Liga match and a fixture of the UEFA Champions League against Juventus. A must-win game is the requirement for Barca in the clash against UD Levante, and Lionel Messi once again lifted up his team and scored the only goal of the match.
Barca was the dominant side when they fired off the heat at the very first minute of the match. They outshot the opponent with 13-4 during the first 45 minutes. Unfortunately, it was not enough to get them a goal. Several shots found its way to the net of Levante, and Barcelona actually could get a goal when they shot towards the net of Levante 7 times. Antonine Griezmann had the best chance to score for FC Barcelona in the first half, but the Frenchman could not cost it in.
In the second half, Barcelona continued to be the attacking side as they kept creating so many shots towards the net of Levante. But it was not until the 76th minute that Barcelona scored the only goal of the match, and it was thanked to Lionel Messi.
It was a historic milestone of the Argentine player since he scored his 600th goals for the club with the shirt number 10. Messi previously surpassed the best goal scoring record of Barcelona in 2012, and now he got more than 600th goals for Barcelona.
Levante actually did well in the match against Barcelona and prevented the giants of Catalan in most dangerous situation. But it was the talent of Lionel Messi that helped Barca took 3 points from the hands of Levate. With this victory, Barcelona could continue their hope to race for the La Liga trophy. For Levante, they kept being in the regulation zone and only 3 points away from the last position of La Liga fixture.
