It was a shameful loss of Liverpool against Brighton yesterday. And it cost the time an advantage for the trophy race of English Premier League.
This loss of Liverpool to Brighton means that the team of Merseyside has to beat Manchester City in the upcoming battle between two sides in order to maintain their race for the EPL trophy. Liverpool has to wait up to 30 years long to end their wait for becoming the champion of England. But probably, they would surrender that trophy after just 7 months of being the champ.
It is quite brutal truth, but it could happen since the Kop lost to such a strange opponent. Brighton was never a threat to such a champion like Liverpool, but for some reason, the team led by Graham Potter managed such a win against the champ.
Steven Alzate score the only goal of this match, but it was enough for Brighton to grab a win away from Anfield. The winning streak of Liverpool in Anfield has been ended by Burnley since two weeks ago. And the sad news continued in Anfield again. But Liverpool lads believed that the number won’t surpass number 2.
He said that any games against Manchester City would be big, but Liverpool has to get back as they are seven points behind the Citizens right now.
It isn’t only about the last two deficit in Anfield that the Kop has to think about. Preparing for the next showcase against Man City is more urgent right now for Liverpool. After the win against Tottenham in Anfield back on Dec. 16th, Liverpool only got two points from four home games.
Perhaps, the only positive thing right now for Liverpool is that they are still on the title race. They should be thankful that they have not dropped point for title race opponents.
Klopp said that he could not be happy at all with this loss, but said that there is solution for the problem. He said that players are the solution.
Injuries have definitely destroyed the entire plan of Liverpool in this season, and though they club has added to their squad fresh names, still, we need time for them to adapt. In the upcoming match against Man City, the team will not have service of several important names like Alisson, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Joel Matiep, Virgil Van Dijk, and Joe Gomez.
It would be definitely a tough match for Liverpool against the Citizens when they have to play with ton of pressure and an incomplete squad. Time will answer for the title race of EPL, but right now, Liverpool lost their advantage.
