The price of Saigon Jewelry Company’s gold bar fell 1.04 percent to VND75.95 million ($3,096.21) per tael, its lowest level since January 12.
The price of the gold ring increased by 0.3% to 64.05 million VND per tael. One tael is equal to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
Overall, gold prices were little changed on Monday, as traders cautiously awaited new data on the U.S. economy and the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge due later this week, leading to the central bank’s decision on interest rates next week. Reuters reported.
Spot gold edged down 0.1% to $2,026.39 an ounce.
U.S. gold futures fell 0.1% to $2,028.00.
