Dang Lu, 75, said people have learned not to throw waste into the sea and some collect it for commercial purposes.
Environmental companies have also cleaned up the waste, but the situation persists as communities upstream continue to dump their waste into the rivers that flow along this part of the coastline.
“We’re used to trash cans now,” Lu said.
