Filipino Moises “The Lion King” Lois Ilogon won big at ONE Championship, Asia’s premier MMA competition, with a technical knockout over South Korea’s Cho “Tyrant” Joon-gun on Friday in Bangkok.
Ilogon, a SEA Games bronze medalist, landed a critical blow in the third round with his left knee to Cho’s ribs before finishing the fight with a ground and mart before the bell, ABS-CBN News reported.
Throughout the match, which was his ONE debut, Ilogon did not hesitate to use his signature move of repeating high kicks.
Cho also fought well with two takedowns in the second round, which forced Ilogon into his defensive stance.
Ilogon remained dominant throughout the match with solid punches and precise kicks before grabbing the victory.
The 23-year-old from Cagayan de Oro was working as a Muay Thai trainer in Qatar.
Ilogon was a national champion in Muay Thai before winning a bronze medal in Kun Khmer at SEA Games 32 this year.
