Dortmund confirmed that they have sacked Lucian Favre after a shocking defeat of 4-1 against VFB Stuttgart in a Bundesliga match last Saturday. Edin Terzic, former coach of the youth team, will replace Lucian Favre.
Lucian Favre was the best successor of Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund after the German coach departed for Liverpool in 2016. But in the last 3 years of working at Dortmund, Favre has also created some forgetful moments with the club. His last defeat at Dortmund against Stuttgart was the best example. Dortmund under his spell was a symbol of a beautiful style of playing, but at the same time, they were unstable, premature, and unpredictable. That is partially why Dortmund finally has sacked Lucian Favre though he has been doing quite decently in the last 3 years with the club.
Edin Terzic, the former coach of Borussia Dortmund will replace Favre as the head coach. On their main website, Dortmund also announced the departure of Favre and gave him some tributes for his contribution at the club.
In a statement, Dortmund’s director board wrote.
“The club would like to thank Lucien for his dedication and wish him success in his future.
Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the current season. Terzic’s coaching team will be joined by Sebastian Geppert and Otto Addo.”
Favre is leaving Dortmund afterward such a bad game, and his place will be replaced by Terzic. However, we all wish you the best and hope that Favre can find a good destination.
