Barca’s transfer window will solely be about targetting new strikers and boost their attacking power. Ronald Koeman confirmed with Goal.
Koeman recently admitted that Barca’s transfer window will be busy seeking new strikers for the club.
In the recent match of Barcelona against Huesca, El Blaugrana only scored one goal towards the net of their opponent. Although the three front-men Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, and Martin Braithwaite created a total of 15 shots, Barca only scored one time, thanks to a midfielder Frenkie De Jong. Barcelona eventually was the most wasteful team in the La Liga tournament, and the match against Huesca is a good example.
Ronald Koeman said that the team theoretically was good against Huesca, showing promising stats of shooting despite not much of them turned into a goal. The Dutchman confessed that his team followed the tactics well, but they got to improve the outcome of the shooting. Koeman also added that the team will need to look for a new striker in the upcoming time of winter transfer.
Specifically, the Dutchman wants to add to his team a target man striker. He pointed out that both Griezmann and Braithwaite were not target man strikers, and though they tried to adapt to new position, both players seemingly wrestled with being a front man of El Blaugrana.
Koeman also added that his side needed to boost the quality of the defense. Despite having good strikers and tough defensive system, Barcelona was pressurized hard by Huesca in the recent round of the La Liga tournament.
So far, Barca is not attached to any names yet, but we can see some new strikers join the club of Catalan region soon.
