Arsenal once again won big in the UEFA Europa League after defeating the Austrian Rapid Wien with a margin of 4 goals. The English side scored in the 10th minute, 18th minute, 44th minute, and 66th minute respectively.
It was the first time in this season of 2020-2021, UEFA allowed the audience to attend a match in the UEFA Europa League. Arsenal was the team that had the privilege, and with the support of 2.000 spectators coming to Emirates stadium, the home team showed a strong performance against the Austrian Rapid Wien. Ultimately, the English side won with the result of 4-0 against the visiting team from Austria. That was the fourth match that the team of Mikel Arteta won with a margin of more than three goals consecutively.
Before the match, the Arsenal squad walked alongside the Emirates Stadium and chanted with their fans who did not allow to come to the stadium since March. The tribune was given to the fans, and the Gunners did not have to wait too long to celebrate a goal from the home team. In the 10th minute, Alexandre Lacazette rocketed a ball from a distance of more than 30 meters.
Though that shot was in the middle of the goal, it was strong, clinical, and unpredictable that the goalkeeper of Rapid Wien could not put his hand on it. One goal was nailed in the back of the net for Arsenal. Emirates Stadium was like a festival for the home team after the opening goal. It has been a while since the last time the audience came to watch a game of Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. As the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, Arsenal kept showing the class of a big club.
They got a chance to score from the header of the center back Skhodran Mustafi, but Arsenal had to wait until the 18th minute to have another celebration. It was the goal of Pablo Mari that helped the home team enlarged their margin. Thanks to a good cross from Reiss Nelson, the Spaniard scored for himself a beautiful header in the game.
The support of 2.000 spectators seemingly brought out a positivity inside Arsenal’s players. The team currently has been through a mixed bag of results in the English Premier League, but when it came to Europa League, Arsenal is still a dominant team.
As the match went on, Arsenal continued to score another in the 44th minutes, thanks to a beautiful set piece between Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah. Nketiah was the one to nail the third goal for Arsenal. After scoring three goals in the first half, Arsenal suffered a little set back caused by the visiting team.
Rapid Wien scored a goal in the early time of the second half, but that was the only set back they created. Arsenal gradually get the possession back, and they continued to stomp the visiting team with a tremendous pressure. Arsenal Emile Smith Rowe scored the final goal of the match in the 66th minute.
