“I’ll move as soon as I can,” the movie star revealed in a recent interview with WSJ Magazine.
Growing up in Hollywood with her actor parents, Jolie explained that she never found the place impressive.
“Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place,” the actress told the newspaper. “So you’re looking for authenticity.”
Her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt following their split in 2016 has since further reinforced her boundaries. This has restricted her ability to live and travel freely, while her acting career has also slowed, with only five film appearances in the past seven years since her divorce, as the newspaper reports. Daily Mail.
The exposure to publicity that her personal life suffers even makes the actress believe that she would not begin her acting career if given the opportunity to choose again.
While waiting for the day she can escape it by moving to the Asian country, Jolie-Pitt also plans to focus on her new sustainable fashion brand, Atelier Jolie, which her children Zahara and Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt have helped to create.
She is working on opening a store in New York, which will include a cafe staffed by refugee and immigrant chefs and host educational events, she revealed.
Jolie, 48, began dating her ex-husband, movie star Brad Pitt, 60, in 2005. Marrying in 2014, the couple split two years later after initially filing for divorce Pretty.
Since then, they have been embroiled in a legal battle for custody of their six children. The children include Maddox, Pax Thien, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt.
Maddox, Pax Thien and Zahara were adopted from orphanages in Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia respectively. Meanwhile, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox are the couple’s biological children.
Jolie was awarded physical custody of the children, while Pitt was granted joint custody in 2021. However, it appears the standoff still isn’t completely resolved.
