A fire broke out at a wedding hall hosting more than 400 guests in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on Sunday, but everyone managed to escape unscathed.
About half an hour after the party began in a hall belonging to a church, a fire broke out where a music group was playing.
The band was on a stage filled with flammable materials used for decoration and the fire spread quickly.
“I was just eating and when I looked up at the scene I saw a small fire. I turned around to tell the others and when I looked back it was “Already turned into a big fire. We quickly ran out and as we reached the door, the entire room was filled with black smoke and a burning smell,” said a guest named Son.
The groom, Ngo Duc Thang, said: “Everyone was scared and many were crying. It was fortunate that no one was hurt.”

Four fire trucks arrived and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.
Nguyen Duc Vu, chairman of Xuan Son commune, Chau Duc district, said people managed to escape quickly because the hall was large and had open entrances.
Police suspect that an electrical short circuit could be the cause of the fire.
Damage is estimated at 1 billion VND (US$40,850).
