As of the moment, limited details are known about the upcoming Oculus Quest Pro version.
However, it is now becoming clearer what area the new wearable gadget would focus on, thanks to Mark Zuckerberg’s latest statements.
Based on the provided information from the Facebook’s popular CEO, the new Oculus Quest Pro headset will not be about raw power. Another reason behind this is that the current Oculus Quest 2 version can already harness the power of a computer’s GPU without a physical cable in place, thanks to the newly released AirLink.
“I think the trade-off on requiring the wire is too great in terms of the experience,” said Zuckerberg.
“What you trade off on immersion and being able to walk around — even if you’re sitting at a desk and doing productivity work,” he added.
Oculus Quest Pro’s New Advanced On-Board Sensors
According to Toms Guide’s latest report, Mark Zuckerberg said that the new Oculus Quest Pro will focus on new advanced onboard sensors. He added that putting more power in various types of sensors and capabilities of a VR headset could also make virtual reality a higher-end experience.

He added that these new advanced sensors include face tracking, health, and eye-tracking sensors. These features could greatly enhance users’ VR experiences.
For example, Andrew Bosworth, Facebook President of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, said that eye-tracking sensors can dramatically enhance performance by only rendering things found in the field of view of the eye’s fovea.
As of the moment, there is no confirmation yet regarding Oculus Quest Pro’s exact release date. However, some rumors believed that Facebook Technologies, LCC would not release it this year.
Other innovations for Oculus Quest VR headsets
Meanwhile, Tech Radar previously reported that Oculus Quest 2 could soon access and run your favorite Android applications. Rumors revealed that there will soon be an “Android Apps For Quest” app in the Oculus Store.
