ZTE Axon 20 was the world’s first smartphone with an under-display selfie camera, but the iamge quality was less than stellar. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has improved the technology and will present the Axon 30 Pro 5G at MWC Shanghai, with much higher performance.
Ni Fei, the president of mobile devices at ZTE, posted a teaser photo on his personal Weibo profile, revealing that the technology is indeed better. Here is the image which can be enlarged:

The image indicates both less noticeable issues with the panel on the camera sensor and improved image quality.
The first generation panel was developed by Visinox, and we would expect the same to be true with the updated version. We will be following the event closely and hopefully ZTE will give us more information on how the companies managed to get around the main problem: getting more light to reach the camera sensor.
