According to Cesc Fabregas, a former teammate of Jack Wilshere, the Englishman could have played for Real Madrid if he did not suffer from so many injuries.
Former Barcelona and Arsenal star, Fabregas recommended that his former Arsenal teammate could have played for Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. During his earlier phase of the career, Jack Wilshere was suggested to become a world-class midfielder. The Englishman started his career as a winger before shifting to the middle where he bloomed as one of the brightest Gunners.
He showed his class during the famous game against Barcelona in the 2010-2011 season. Wilshere received the man of the match for his outstanding displays which also earned him a huge potential future.
Nonetheless, several injuries set back Wilshere’s development, and he could not fully reach his potential. The English man left Arsenal in 2018, after 8 years playing for the North London’s side. He moved to West Ham later but, but currently was released by London’s side.
Fabregas believed that if his former Arsenal teammate had not suffered from so many injuries, he could have played for giant clubs in Europe including Spanish Real Madrid. “Jack was such a good talent, one of the most talented players I’ve ever played with,” he told an interview with the Daily Mail.

“He was just 16 when he first came to train with us and I was like ‘wow this guy is good, strong, sharp’. It’s a big shame what happened to him, I feel sorry because he could have been a proper English legend of the game,” Fabregas added.
Even though Real Madrid was the biggest rivalry of Barcelona, Fabregas suggested that the former Arsenal talent could become a good piece of the Spanish side. Spanish player also advised that his former team, Barcelona, would also be a great destination for Wilshere if he was fully fit.
“We always talk about how British players would adapt to teams in Europe – I always believed Jack was one of the few Brits who could have made it big time at Real Madrid or Barcelona. Same with Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale. These guys are so talented, without injuries they could have done much more,” he said.
Wilshere was linked with several clubs after leaving West Ham. A potential move to Spain is a good offer for Wilshere, but this time, there is no transfer between him and Barcelona or Real Madrid. The former talent is held back because of a variety of injuries.
