For many, headphones are an inseparable companion to their phone. However, headphones come in all shapes and sizes and we were curious which type is your favorite. Smartphone makers have pushed True Wireless (TWS) headsets, but are they really the best option?
In-ear headphones are hard to beat when it comes to sound quality. They’re also great for keeping distracting noise at bay, even without active noise cancellation. And they have the best battery life to boot. However, their size and weight mean they aren’t the most practical choice for many use cases.

We have recently reviewed many helmets
TWS headsets are tiny, making them easy to carry with you at all times, but also easy to lose. You can find models that sound great and some also offer great insulation – but that requires rubber tips which some find uncomfortable.
Some in-ear models have a neck strap. These do not require a charging / carrying case like the TWS models and also tend to be cheaper. There are, of course, on-ear models.
A related question, wired or wireless? The answer in the TWS case is clear, but most of the famous over-ear models are also wireless. Of course, there is usually a way to connect them with a cable, but most people never do.
One of the reasons for doing this is if low latency is required – it can make all the difference for video calling and gaming. Basic Bluetooth headphones can introduce up to 200ms of latency into the system, which is quite noticeable. Good wireless models have latency as low as 50-80ms.
