HANOI, Vietnam , March 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Vantage Foundation has formalized a strategic academic collaboration with the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV), one of the country’s leading financial universities, to advance financial education in the era of artificial intelligence.
Held at the BAV campus on March 12 and 14, the program brought together leading academic institutions across Vietnam to equip educators and students with practical knowledge in AI-based financial analysis and decision-making.
Also present were dozens of ecosystem partners who care deeply about Vietnam’s economic and technological progress, including prominent figures from Vietnam’s local fintech and high-tech sectors, as well as introduction broker (IB) partners, all of whom have full confidence in the country’s socio-economic development.
The initiative was co-organized with more than 10 leading universities across the country, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH), National University of Economics (NEU), Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), and Foreign Trade University (FTU). These institutions represent some of Vietnam’s most respected centers of economic and financial education and have collectively formed a national academic coalition supporting the program.
At the center of the initiative was the jointly developed course “Financial Data Analysis and Decision Making in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, designed to introduce practical applications of AI in modern financial systems.
One of the defining features of the program was its train-the-trainer (ToT) model, which equipped teachers and professors at participating universities with contemporary educational frameworks in AI and finance. By empowering teachers, the initiative allowed knowledge to spread across institutions, enabling trained teachers to introduce advanced financial analytics and AI-powered decision-making concepts into their own classrooms.
The teacher training session saw participation far exceed initial expectations. While the program was initially designed for around 20 participants, more than 250 professors from more than 10 major universities in Vietnam eventually joined the session, including more than 50 in person and more than 200 online.
Among them was a delegation from Can Tho University, one of Vietnam’s leading finance universities, whose dean and professors traveled more than 1,500 kilometers from the Mekong Delta to Hanoi to attend the training in person, although they had the option to participate remotely.
Following the faculty training session on March 12, the program provided in-person learning for 500 university students on March 14 at the BAV campus in Hanoi. To widen access beyond the capital, the program was also broadcast across the country, allowing up to 1,000 additional participants to take part online.
The academic sessions of the program were taught by BAV faculty, namely Dr. Vu Xuan Tung, AI Solutions Architect at Goline Financial Technology JSC; and Ms. Truong Thi Minh Trang, M.Sc., General Manager of Financial Information Services at FiinGroup, Vietnam’s leading financial data and analytics provider, supported by global financial information institutions including Nikkei and S&P Global. Dr Tung led sessions covering AI applications in finance, macroeconomic models and credit decision-making, while Ms Trang guided participants through real-time financial data dashboards and practical cases of AI adoption.
The program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony jointly led by Mr. Floyd Wong, Head of Vietnam representing the Vantage Foundation, as well as representatives of the Vietnam Banking Academy.
In total, the program has reached approximately 1,500 students and teachers nationwide. Participation was capped due to venue capacity and technical limitations, with demand for the program outstripping available places. The organizers saw this initiative as the basis for future collaborations aimed at expanding AI-based financial education to a wider audience across Vietnam.
“At the Vantage Foundation, we believe that education is a catalyst for sustainable progress. Our collaboration with the Vietnam Banking Academy on the Financial Data Analysis and Decision Making in the AI Era training program reflects our commitment to strengthening financial education in a rapidly changing landscape,” said Mr. Adam Siew, Vice President of Business Development representing the Vantage Foundation, who delivered the opening speech of the program.
“Co-organized with more than 10 leading institutions, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Vietnam National University and National University of Economics, the initiative provides teachers with specialized training sessions while engaging more than 1,500 students in person and online. Through this effort, we are investing in the educators and future leaders who will shape the next era of smart, responsible finance.
Nguyễn Thanh Phương, Associate Professor, PhD and Vice Director of the Vietnam Banking Academy, said the program reflects the growing need for financial professionals to adapt to rapid technological changes.
“The rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a prediction; it has become a reality that is reshaping the structure of the global financial sector. In Vietnam, traditional finance professionals face critical challenges, including a lack of specialized skills and tools for data collection, analysis and processing, as well as increasing pressure for high-speed processing and absolute accuracy in real-time transaction environments.
The modern finance and banking sector also requires rigorous risk management thinking and the ability to personalize services. Every professional is no longer just an operational executor but must become an expert who deeply understands customers and can design tailor-made financial solutions while ensuring system security.
He added that the partnership also aligns with the Academy’s broader strategy to strengthen international collaboration and innovation in financial education.
“BAV has always been a pioneer in integrating fintech and AI trends into its program. Our decision to collaborate with the Vantage Foundation is part of our roadmap for internationalization and innovation in training methods. We believe this partnership will connect academic learning with international practice and create a strong launchpad for students to confidently enter the global job market.
Through this collaboration, Vantage Foundation continues to support youth development and financial education initiatives aligned with Vietnam’s national focus on digital capability, fintech innovation and workforce preparation in the financial sector.
