Sony is finally launching the PlayStation 5 in India today. The console will be available from online and offline retailers including Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Center, and Vijay Sales. The PlayStation 5 is priced at INR 49,990 for the standard model and $ 39,990 for the digital edition.

At launch, only the Standard Edition of the console appears to be on sale. The standard edition is the one that includes the UHD Blu-ray player for games and media. The digital edition has been announced for India, but will go on sale later.
You will also be able to purchase all the new accessories, including the DualSense wireless controller (5,990 INR), HD camera (5,190 INR), PULSE 3D wireless headset (8,590 INR), multimedia remote control (2,590 INR) and the DualSense charging station. (2,590 INR).

As you might expect, uptime is an issue right now. At the time of writing this article, the console was hardly available at all of the aforementioned online retailers. Pre-orders went live a few weeks ago and those who managed to buy one back then should receive them starting today, but it doesn’t look like you can buy one now unless to get lucky at your local offline retailer.
Sony India was kind enough to send us a unit for review prior to launch. We will be posting our thoughts on this in the coming days.
