Son Heung-min won the’Pleasant Win’ award by ranking first among 157 trainees at the graduation ceremony.
The Marine Corps selects about five outstanding trainees and awards them at the ceremony. The number of winners is not disclosed, but Son Heung-min is known to have won first place.
Son Heung-min received a perfect score of 100 in the mental power evaluation, and in shooting training, he got excellent grades in all subjects, hitting 10 out of 10 shots at the target.
Son Heung-min, the’Captain’ (Captain) of the Republic of Korea’s national football team, received a good score while performing the squad leader’s duty during each combat training.
A military official said that Son Heung-min was sincerely engaged in training without being inferior, and the training instructors evaluated Son Heung-min as a polite and well-qualified trainer.
A military official explained that “Son Heung-min gave a lot of points and didn’t give a little,” and said, “It was objectively evaluated.”
Son Heung-min, who entered the training center on the 20th of last month, was trained for three weeks in the Marine Corps mental and fighter training, individual firearm shooting, gun swordsmanship, chemicals room, group gun ritual movements, individual combat, independent armed march, and first aid.
A Marine Corps official said, “Although it is not active in the Marine Corps, I look forward to becoming a stronger and better player by remembering the’invincible Marine’s indomitable spirit’ that was emphasized during training.”
On the 6th of this month, the image of Son Heung-min returning to the training camp after completing shooting training at a shooting range along the coast was also captured in Yonhap News photos. At the time, Son Heung-min, the 139th trainer, was wearing the 136th bulletproof cap.
A military official said, “In the process of taking off the bulletproof hat, you wore a colleague’s bulletproof hat incorrectly.”
It is known that Son Heung-min requested to close the completion ceremony in consideration of the Corona 19 situation. Separate from the request of Son Heung-min, the Marine Corps is restricting access to family members and outsiders at the training soldiers’ exit ceremony for the prevention of Corona 19.
Son Heung-min received a gold medal in the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games men’s soccer, and was transferred as a sports agent.
After completing the basic military training, Son Heung-min receives a separate service number as a supplementary service under the Military Service Act, and the final rank is a Marine soldier.
Son Heung-min will be active as an active player for 34 months and will complete his military service after completing a certain period of volunteer work (544 hours).
The Marine Corps Training Center where Son Heung-min was trained is the place where Marines who participated in the Incheon landing operation in the Korean War were trained in preparation for the battle. The Marine Corps preserved training facilities at the time and operated a history hall. (yunhap news)
